The Privacy Policy of Oliver Andermatt

1 Purpose

This privacy policy applies between ‘me’ (Oliver Andermatt, Dufaux-Strasse 2, 8152 Glattpark [Opfikon], Switzerland, ) and ‘you’, the user.

Based on the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union, each person has the fundamental human right to privacy and to protection from misuse of their personal data.

As the data controller of your personal data, I comply with these provisions. Only the most essential personal data is collected and treated in strict confidence and neither sold nor forwarded to third parties without your consent, unless required to do so by law.

2 Data Processing and Retention

All data of my website, unless stated otherwise, is stored with my hosting provider (Hostpoint AG, Neue Jonastrasse 60, 8640 Rapperswil-Jona, Switzerland) with whom I have concluded a data processing agreement.

2.1 Usage Data in Server Log Files

When you access my website, your usage data is stored in my server log files, which are used by the statistics program Logaholic Basic to create graphic reports.

The following data forms the basis for these reports with which I can improve my website accordingly:

  • Click paths
  • Downloaded files
  • Errors
  • IP address
  • Location (continent, country and city based on your IP address)
  • Page views (date, duration, time, title, URL)
  • Referrer URL (website from which you’re accessing from)
  • Technical information (browser type, operating system)

2.2 Contact Form and Contact Email Address

If you send me a message via the contact form or the contact email address, the following data from you will be stored on my mail server in order for me to process your request:

  • Date and time
  • Email address
  • Message
  • Name
  • Subject

I will store your message on my mail server for five (5) years.

3 SSL Encryption

To protect the security of any data during transmission, my website uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) via HTTPS encryption methods. The data you transmit to me cannot be read by third parties.

4 Cookies

Cookies are small text files my website stores on your device to optimise your use of my website during your visit.

4.1 Cookie Acceptance

Normally your browser accepts cookies automatically. You can change your browser preferences so cookies don’t get accepted at all or only with your consent and that all cookies get deleted from your device by your browser at any time:

5 Google Analytics

My website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by ‘Google’ (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) with whom I have concluded a data processing agreement.

5.1 Data Processing and Retention

Google will collect the following data to evaluate your use of my website in order to compile reports about your website activities for me:

  • Approximate location (continent, country and city based on your anonymised IP address)
  • Click paths
  • Downloaded files
  • Page views (date, duration, time, title, URL)
  • Referrer URL (website from which you’re accessing from)
  • Technical information (device type: model, screen resolution; operating system: browser type, version)
  • User ID and device ID

This data is combined by Google into pseudonymous user profiles and transmitted to a Google server in the United States.

Event-level and user-level data stored by Google Analytics is automatically deleted from Analytics servers after fourteen (14) months.

5.2 Cookies

Google Analytics uses cookies to store information on your device.

Normally your browser accepts cookies automatically. You can change your browser preferences so cookies don’t get accepted at all or only with your consent and that all cookies get deleted from your device by your browser at any time.

5.3 Opt-out

You can prevent Google from collecting and processing your data by downloading and installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5.4 Google Analytics Consent

You must agree or disagree to Google processing the data collected about you in the manner described above and for the purpose named above through my cookie consent banner.

6 Right to Information, Correction, Blocking and Deletion

You have the right, at any time and free of charge, to access information about your stored personal data, its origins and recipients, and the purpose for its processing; as well as the right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data, provided that this claim does not conflict with a legal obligation to retain data.
