Acidalia Planitia

Acidalia Planitia is a plain on the Northern Hemisphere of Mars located between the volcanic plateau Tharsis and the large upland region Arabia Terra.

In my conception, the badlands of Death Valley, with their dry desert heat in the northern Mojave Desert of Eastern California, represent the red planet here on Earth.
