Almost hidden in the heart of Vienna, beneath the Capuchin Church, lies the Capuchins’ Crypt: a burial chamber holding the mortal remains of 150 members of the House of Habsburg.

Hibernating in silence within their dark coffins, vaults and sarcophagi – adorned with guardian angels and skulls – the empresses and emperors appear to await their awakening to continue their royal mission …
