Luftschiff
A Luftschiff, also known as an airship, is a type of dirigible balloon. The aerostat can navigate through the air under its own power and remains aloft using buoyancy or static lift from a gas less dense than the surrounding air.
‘Circling Overland’
First assembled and flown by the German inventor Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin during the Second Industrial Revolution or the Technological Revolution, Luftschiffe are also called Zeppelins.
It is this aura of powerful industrial craftsmanship and innovative aviation technology the Zeppelins emit, which—for me—are a breathtaking sight each and every time I spot a Luftschiff silently circling overland at cruising altitude.
